Bourbon is for the kiddies ... Rye for the grownups.
Can this drink be batched?
I know this one is old, but I hope you still see comments/questions. Do you have recommendations on pairing a sherry with basque cheesecake? I am sure I will be delighted if you do. PS - That blouse looks like it was made for you.
For a dry martini, you have to give it that " HAWK TUAH"🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video. I'm planning to try with Tarquins Sea Dog sloe, a mix of sloe and navy strength gin. As a rough idea how much soda would you add in to retain the flavour?
What's happened to her head...?
The correct spelling for Scotch and Japanese whisky is WHISKY. To deliberately misspell is a form of cultural imperialism. All you have to do is to check the label on the bottle.
Definitely a typo there but given the fact that I’m Scottish and this video is made in Australia (where both spellings are used depending on the distillery) I hope you can take it at face value and not as part of the American imperialist project…haha.
Isn't about the top third of all that ice entirely extraneous?
More ice = slower dilution = more control 😊 more info here if you’re interested! ruclips.net/video/93nGSSl1G24/видео.htmlsi=o1xesOFSf5OKUt4P
I like JW Double Black and coke. Also Amaro Averna with tonic.
Ooh haven’t tried Averna and tonic but I do like a Suze and tonic - sounds yum!

Passionfruit makes everything better... My husband hates it, so I don't have to share my drinks, see? Better🤣
I still need to work on the foam on this - I'm not quite getting it. But I'm a newbie to barcraft. I got the idea that I wanted to play around with whisky sours because I was making a couple of quiches, and my recipe uses extra egg yolks. So I've ended up with quite a bit of egg white to play around with.
Honestly it’s probably just how hard you’re shaking. You really need to put some heft into it!
Recently acquired a passion fruit liqueur called Chinola, here in NorCal. Currently sipping on a Hurricane, with extra passion fruit flavor, and a float of Don Q overproof. I’ll grab some mint this week, and give this a go, thanks! 🍹
Chinola is 🔥
I'm 63 and only had one or two LIITs in my drinking life. Always seemed like it was a mishmash of too many spirits. Just do shots if you want to get hammered! Love your vids, though!
Fair!
I can't get Passionfruit sieup that easily. What about using just the pulp of physical fruits?
Definitely! You just might need to use some sugar/sugar syrup as well depending how tart your passion fruits are - these ones come in syrup so have some added sweetness already.
@@BehindtheBar perfect. Thank you!
Ooh, that sounds amazing. Def. an upgrade on pasito x vodka 🤗
Had a passion fruit daiquiri last night. Was super delicious!
Can I have the recipe? :)
@@tilltronje1623 just like a regular daiquiri but swap the simple syrup with passion fruit purée syrup. 2oz of rum. I used cachaca but any light rum or aged rum works. Go crazy with it. 1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice 3/4 oz of Réal Passion Fruit purée syrup. Shake with ice & enjoy!

Ach... Thank you for the recipes, from such a bonnie fine Celt Lass... ;)
Cocktail historian David Wondrich has documented one claimant, an Irish bartender and owner of a bar in Tijuana, as one of the earliest credible "inventors" of the Margarita. The bartender's name was Madden and this story first appeared in a 1936 article in an Iowa newspaper, making it one of the earliest claims, if not the earliest published claim to have invented the "Margarita." This predates several other Mexican or Texas claimants by five to ten years -- and those other origin stories often involved a woman named Margarita, Rita, Margaret or Peggy. However, given the history of the Daisy as a gin, brandy or whiskey based drink, dating back to at least the 1870s, it is just as likely that the drink evolved in multiple places -- given its copycat formula of spirit, liqueur (typically, orange or citrus flavored), and fresh lemon or lime juice -- and simply used the literal Spanish translation of the name already in wide use for the entire class of drinks using this formula. What is certain is that anyone claiming to have invented the "Margarita" in the late 1930s or 1940s was lying, or perhaps more generously, was simply unaware that other bartenders had already used a widespread cocktail formula for a new-ish tequila-based drink.
Big like 252 and subscribed! Excellent video and great recipe! I want to make one of those drinks now!
Thank you!!
Brew your tea however you like it, chill, and add Wild Turkey American Honey. I do about 4:1 and pour over crushed ice. You can thank me later.
the only thing missing in the video is how to store them right ???
Bitters are generally high in alcohol so pretty stable - they’re fine stored as you usually would your spirits, out of direct sunlight, but don’t need to be in the fridge or anything. Some smaller batch ones will ‘flock’ a bit with changes in temperature (I.e. go a little cloudy), but that doesn’t mean you can’t use them 😊
I'll tell you what. We could use this right about now in Texas. Whew, it's hot!
totally unrelated comment: Nice how her necklace matches the colours of the ink on her right arm
got it the first time, but watching a third time now just because of the accent 😇
Irish, American whiskey Scotch, Japanese, Australian whisky
Not always! Scotch legally has to be spelt without the ‘e’, but the rest it’s up to each distillery. In Ireland both were used interchangeably until reasonably recently in their whisk(e)y making history and the ‘e’ was really just introduced to differentiate from Scottish whisky. But, there are some distilleries like Waterford who still use whisky. In the US, Makers Mark is a prominent example of a distillery that uses whisky instead of whiskey, and there are others, especially those that make a single malt as opposed to bourbon/rye. In Australia it’s the same thing - whisky is generally used for single malt distilleries, but someone like the Gospel who make rye whiskey use the ‘e’. So basically, doesn’t matter too much!
Boy! That looks easy,Cara Kitten 🐈I'm in Southern Cal.(USA) by Palm Springs 😳it's high 80°, low 90° right now 😧that drink, will come in handy 😬

In mixology, a shrub is a type of syrup made from a mixture of fruit, sugar, and vinegar. It is used as a flavoring agent in cocktails and mocktails, adding a sweet and tangy taste. The preparation process involves macerating the fruit with sugar, then adding vinegar to create a balanced flavor profile. Shrubs are versatile and can be used in various drinks, such as spritzes, punches, and even water, making them a valuable addition to any mixologist's repertoire. In case this is the first time you have heard this word used this way.

Is Scottish breakfast tea battered and deep fried?
🤣
I live in NC and I think it's perfectly acceptable to state that the tea here is most often made with an ungodly amount of sugar. In fact we've ended up with it from a restaurant before and just used it as a tea syrup. Also great for brining a chicken and roasting it.
Nice twist on cocktails. I’m gonna try this with cold brew tea.
How fun and exiting. I used to make tea drinks some 20 years ago when I worked at a coffee house. This sounds and looks great. Thank you for the memories.
